Ann Arbor Teens Love Invisalign®

As a trusted orthodontist in Ann Arbor, we want our teen patients to be excited about starting their journey towards straighter teeth. Invisalign for Teens helps us do that. Invisalign doesn't use brackets, wires, and bands like traditional braces. The convenience of Invisalign makes it particularly appealing to our teen patients.

Invisalign created a system that meets the unique needs of teens. At your initial consultation, Dr. Li will determine if Invisalign for Teens is the best option for your unique smile. Dr. Li can map out your new smile using 3D images taken by the iTero Element scanner. From there, you’ll get a custom treatment plan that’s right for you.

See What Invisalign® Treatment Can Do For Teens

Teens come to us with a variety of orthodontics concerns. For some patients there isn’t enough room in the jaw for teeth to fit normally, others have gaps between their teeth, and for some, the upper and lower jaws don’t line up. While some people think these orthodontics problems are just cosmetic, the truth is, they can lead to dental and health problems. For example, crowded teeth can make it hard to brush and floss well. Then it’s easier for plaque, tartar, and harmful bacteria to build up, causing tooth decay. An overbite can cause your teeth to wear down, and an underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly.

Orthodontic problems treatable by Invisalign include:

  • Open Bite
  • Crowded Teeth
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Gap Teeth
  • Crooked Teeth

As always, personalized consultation with an orthodontist is advisable to decide on the best course of treatment.

Invisalign for Teens: Almost Invisible

Your friends probably won’t even know you’re wearing your Invisalign for Teens aligners, because they’re made of clear plastic and almost invisible.

Instead of hiding behind a mouth full of metal, our teen Invisalign patients in Ann Arbor enjoy the confidence of showing off their smiles every day.

You probably have friends with braces who aren’t allowed to chew gum or eat certain foods like popcorn and whole apples. With Invisalign for Teens, the aligners are completely removable. You can eat all of your favorite foods whenever you want.

You won’t have any trouble keeping your teeth clean. Brushing and flossing with Invisalign will be as easy as ever.

Whether you play sports or a musical instrument, traditional metal braces can present some new challenges. It’s hard to perform at your best knowing you could get hit in the mouth with a ball, or cut your lip trying to hit that note on the trumpet!

Invisalign for Teens helps you focus on doing what you do best being a teen. At your initial consultation with Dr. Li, you’ll find out if Invisalign is a good fit for your smile and your lifestyle!

Invisalign For Teens Doesn't Cost More than Traditional Braces

If you or your parents are concerned about the cost of Invisalign for Teens, we are here to show you how affordable it can be. Your needs are unique. Benefits of Choosing Invisalign For Teens

If you or your teens are trying to decide between Invisalign and traditional braces for orthodontic treatment, make sure you know the benefits of Invisalign for Teens.

Invisalign Is Perfect for Teens’ Busy Schedules

Invisalign for Teens treatment is ideal for busy parents in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. You won’t have to worry about emergency appointments, because there aren’t any wires or brackets to break. Invisalign often requires fewer appointments than traditional metal braces because you get a set of your Invisalign aligners in advance, AND, each Invisalign visit requires less "chair time" compared to traditional braces adjustment visit

The typical Invisalign for Teens patients usually see Dr. Li once every 8 to 12 weeks, and the total treatment time normally ranges from 9 to 18  months.

Great for Active Teens

Invisalign for Teens effectively straightens teeth the same way metal braces do. If you’re a teen in Ann Arbor who plays sports, instruments, loves crunchy foods, or are worried about how metal braces will look at homecoming or in the yearbook, it may be the perfect choice for you.

As a teenager, you should be able to participate in the activities you’re interested in while still having the confidence to attend social events and make lasting memories. You should also be able to get efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.

With the clear, comfortable technology of Invisalign and Dr. Li’s expert care, teens can keep being themselves and love their smiles even more.

Responsibilities For Teens With Invisalign

It’s important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day so they can do their job and straighten your teeth. But, with Invisalign, you can remove your aligners for special occasions. Wrapping aligners in paper towels has reportedly been the No.1 “culprit” for our Invisalign Teens to misplace hence lose their aligners, so when you are not wearing your aligners, make sure to place them in the aligner case provided to you and wear them as soon as you are able to do so.

Like with traditional braces, Dr. Li will recommend Invisalign patients wear a retainer after treatment to maintain their new alignment—and their confident new smile.
